Native Plant Species
Some of the native plant species in WA are the Kangaroo Paw, Bottlebush and Banksia.
The Kangaroo Paw (plant) is the state floral emblem. It is shown on the Western Australian Coat of Arms, on either side of the crown, near the kangaroo's heads.
These plants are native to Australia because of their natural adaptations to the hot, dry climate. They don't only grow in bush areas around Australia but they can grow by the river /water and live with plently of nutients from the soils.
Rushes and plants called sedges also grow along the Swan River.
Samphires are also a type of plant that you may find along the Swan River.
